Bill Roy joined Hamel Somers Law & Military Divorce, P.C in 2016 as a paralegal. Bill was born in Suffolk and grew up in Chesapeake. He is a proud graduate of Great Bridge High School. He earned a B.A. degree in Philosophy from the College of William and Mary, where he also played on William and Mary’s baseball team.
Bill joined the Chesapeake Police Department in 1989 and retired after a 27-year career. Bill served with distinction as a Detective, a School Resource officer, a Property and Evidence Officer, as well as a member of the department’s S.W.A.T. Team. In addition, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was Honorably Discharged in 1996.
Bill is married to a Chesapeake Public School teacher and is the proud father of two boys.
